This week was an exciting week for me. Last Thursday I met up with my long time friend, Peter Grosz, who agreed to help me with my upcoming Kickstarter campaign. He is an extremely talented video artist and always has exciting ideas about presenting things creatively He filmed my CD release party several years back and you can watch a cut from that on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=weB6A-t67WA

On an ironic note, we shot the video at his friend Eric Leonardson’s creative space. As it turned out, Eric plays some amazing music. I remembered seeing him shortly after I moved to Chicago (more than 10 years ago) and will never forget his show at the No Longer Nervous Center because Eric plays an instrument he built himself out of a walker and springs. He calls it the “Springboard.” If you can believe it, he amplifies his Springboard and plays the springs with a bow! I know I am not doing his craft justice, so check out his site for more info on what he does.

The shoot went well, and I’m excited to launch the campaign it in the very near future.

My quartet also played this week at the Whistler. It was a fun and well-attended gig. I was joined by some fine musicians: James Davis (trumpet), Kurt Schweitz (bass), and Andre Beasley (drums). I love playing at the Whistler…the vibe is so cool and the drinks are great. I am very thankful to Sommer and Cohen for sticking it out at home while I was out until the early hours of the morning. A big thanks to all who came out to show your support!

Things are certainly happening, so be on the lookout for more news from me. New music, projects, and more of the same. Stay safe and warm in this cold and snowy weather.

Until next week,

Jason
